Tony Robbins and Deepak Chopra Talk about AIDS and HIV

Here’s a bit of the interchange:

Chopra discusses what he calls “so-called AIDS”

Tony Robbins says he read that 9 in 10 times a positive test result is false for heterosexuals, and 9 in 10 times a negative result is false for homosexuals

Both Chopra and Robbins talk aboutAZT, Chopra suggests that it was promulgated by drug companies because they were interested in money

Deepak Chopra and Tony Robbins speak out against the HIV Hoax. They even have a few words on Peter Deusberg

Chopra: HIV may be a precipitating agent in a susceptible host.   The material agent is never the cause of the disease.  It may be the final factor in inducing the full-blown syndrome in somebody who’s already susceptible.

WHO IWorld Health Organization) now wants ALL gay men to take antiretroviral drugs for the rest of their life

"Among men who have sex with men, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is recommended as an additional HIV prevention choice within a comprehensive HIV prevention package. NEW RECOMMENDATION"

In this new consolidated guidelines document on HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for key populations, the World Health Organization brings together all existing guidance relevant to five key populations – men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, people in prisons and other closed settings, sex workers and transgender people – and updates selected guidance and recommendations.

These guidelines aim to:
  • provide a comprehensive package of evidence-based HIV-related recommendations for all key populations;
  • increase awareness of the needs of and issues important to key populations;
  • improve access, coverage and uptake of effective and acceptable services; and
  • catalyze greater national and global commitment to adequate funding and services

Glaxo Says It Will Stop Paying Doctors to Promote Drugs

By

NYTIMES
The British drug maker GlaxoSmithKline will no longer pay doctors to promote its products and will stop tying compensation of sales representatives to the number of prescriptions doctors write, its chief executive said Monday, effectively ending two common industry practices that critics have long assailed as troublesome conflicts of interest

The announcement appears to be a first for a major drug company — although others may be considering similar moves — and it comes at a particularly sensitive time for Glaxo. It is the subject of a bribery investigation in China, where authorities contend the company funneled illegal payments to doctors and government officials in an effort to lift drug sales.

FDA-APPROVED HIV TESTS pt 8

Bio-Rad Multispot HIV-1/HIV-2 Rapid Test
A person who has antibodies to HIV-1 is presumed to be infected with the virus... Clinical correlation is indicated... to decide whether a diagnosis of HIV infection is accurate.
RECALL 6 June 2008 – The typographical error will be corrected for future shipments of Multispot.
RECALL 13 May 2004 – Software error was contained on the ETI-LAB Applications disk for programming the BioRad HIV-1/HIV-2 Plus O assay. The error induced specimen and conjugate incubation temperatures for the assay to remain at ambient temperature rather than the required 37°C temperature.

As drug industry’s influence over research grows, so does the potential for bias

By , - washingtonpost.com

“We now have clear evidence from a large international study that the initial use of [Avandia] is more effective than standard therapies,” a senior vice president of GlaxoSmithKline, Lawson Macartney, said in a news release.
What only careful readers of the article would have gleaned is the extent of the financial connections between the drugmaker and the research. The trial had been funded by GlaxoSmithKline, and each of the 11 authors had received money from the company. Four were employees and held company stock. The other seven were academic experts who had received grants or consultant fees from the firm.
Linda Anderson
Thanks to the Washington Post for the article "Can Drug Research Still be Trusted?"
It was an eye opening look at a $70 billion part of our economy. I don't understand why is there no outrage over 83,000 heart-attacks and deaths from Avandia, yet for weeks now the attention has focused on 4 deaths in the mid-East?

Antiretroviral treatment for HIV reduces food insecurity, reports AIDS Journal

 Public release date: 4-Dec-2012

Antiretroviral treatment for HIV reduces food insecurity, reports AIDS Journal

By increasing work ability, anti-HIV drugs may reduce hunger as well as improve health

Philadelphia, Pa. (December 4, 2012) – Can treatment with modern anti-HIV drugs help fight hunger for HIV-infected patients in Africa? Starting antiretroviral therapy for HIV reduces "food insecurity" among patients in Uganda, suggests a study published online by the journal AIDS, official journal of the International AIDS Society.AIDS is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a part ofWolters Kluwer Health.
.
Treatment including antiretroviral therapy (ART) may lead to a "positive feedback loop" whereby improved functioning and productivity lead to increased ability to work—and thus to decreased food insecurity, according to the study by Kartika Palar, PhD and colleagues of University of California Los Angeles and RAND Corporation. The article is available on the AIDS journal homepage and in the November 28 print edition.

Share your story on a new Website: Living Without HIV Drugs

Living without HIV drugs

This website is dedicated to the true-life stories of people who have two important things in common:
  • 1. We have all been diagnosed as HIV-Positive at some point in our lives, and
  • 2. We have all stopped, or never started taking the HIV medications normally prescribed by our doctors and clinics and hospitals, and are living healthy, happy lives.
We want to share our stories with you, in hopes that they can be an inspiration and provide you with the hope that you, too, can live without HIV drugs and their very serious and damaging side effects.

The Shame of Gilead

by Terry Michael

Gilead Sciences, headquartered in Foster City, CA, is the world's number one purveyor of the chemotherapies known as "anti-retrovirals" (ARVs.) In 2011, the company (named for the Biblical "balm of Gilead") reported ARV sales of about $6.91 billion dollars. The trade names for their ARVs are: Truvada, Atripla, Viread, Complera and Emtriva--all of which they acknowledge have serious adverse "side" effects (as noted in the Gilead prescribing information for Truvada.) Gilead was way ahead of nearest competitor Bristol-Myers-Squibb, which sold about $3.05 billion of the chemo in 2011, according to year-end corporate reports I have reviewed.

Sean Strub, Poz magazine, challenges Julio Montaner,Director of the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, on AIDS "treatment as prevention"

POZ magazine founder Sean Strub, on Julio Montaner and so-called "treatment as prevention," XIX Intnl AIDS Conf., Washington, July 23, 2012. Strub believes in single pathogen theory, but leads against "over use" of chemo "anti-retrovirals," opposing "test-and treat" and "PrEP" or "pre-exposure prophylaxis." Montaner has fed toxic ARV's to Vancouver IV drug users for years--immune suppressive poison to people already pumping poison into their veins. Includes Montaner's weasel word response. Video from Kaiser foundation. (3-second drop-out at point 1:43 into video.)

  • We are not about mandatory anything but testing!
  • Yes, mandatory testing to capture more "postives" and then destroy their health with immediate poisoning with highly toxic chemotherapy. Universal testing is The HIV-AIDS Industry's government's and non-profits' collusion with Gilead Sciences and the other BigPharma producers of the poison.

Denying AIDS. Seth Kalichman in review by OMSJ

I meet Seth Kalichman’s "assistant" Lisa at a screening of “HOUSE OF NUMBERS”. I challenged her to tell me what if anything that was contained in the film was in her view made up, out of context, or unknown to her. Her reply basicly was that she didn't know about the Bangui definition. “Great” I said. Let's discard the rest of the film for just a moment and agree that the Bangui Definition is worth having a broader and new dialog. "NO"..why no if it's something she knew nothing about? I was talking to the bubble. She agreed to have this conversation if on the “HOUSE OF NUMBERS” website there could be a link to promoted Seth book “Denying Aids”. I agreed if Seth would promote the film “HOUSE OF NUMBERS” on Seth’s Denying AIDS website ". She said “i'll talk to Seth” and get back to you. 2 years later i'm still waiting for that call.

Book Review: Denying AIDS

In 2008, John P. Moore Ph.D. and Seth Kalichman Ph.D. joined an unknown blogger who posted this cynical obituary after the death of Christine Maggiore, who died from complications related to an adverse drug reaction.  Before her body cooled, Kalichman, Moore and a who’s who of pharmaceutically-funded activists parroted false claims that Maggiore’s death was adeserving end of a prominent “AIDS denialist.”  An Internet search will locate thousands of messages, news stories and reports that assert (among other things) that Maggiore and her baby would be alive today, “if only she taken life-saving AIDS medications.” To Kalichman, the actual cause of her death wasn’t important.

HIV-negative Zim women test positive after drug trials

About 127 Zimbabwean women who were HIV negative are feared to be now HIV positive after they participated in trials that were aimed at testing a set of drugs that medical experts thought could reduce the risk of infection.
Tenofovir, a key drug used in the study, has since been dropped after it failed to shield participants from contracting the virus.
Vaginal and Oral Interventions to Control the Epidemic (VOICE) project director Dr Nyaradzo Mgodi told The Sunday Mail last Friday that the women were part of a group that was always at risk of infection.
She said the project co-ordinators were still working to establish the exact number of the infected. She said participants who tested positive will receive HIV counselling, contraceptives and other medical support services. The participants are predominantly sexually active married or single women who live in communities with a high HIV prevalence
“The decision to discontinue the use of the Tenofovir tablet in VOICE came after the drugs were found to be ineffective in preventing HIV contraction among the women enrolled for the trials,”

AIDS Conference, protestors staged a “die-in” against Gilead Sciences

Posted by Sunny Bjerk

During the International AIDS Conference last week, protestors staged a “die-in” against Gilead Sciences—manufacturer of the HIV/AIDS medication Truvada—holding signs stating, Truvada Pricing is Murder, and_ Gilead: Greed Destroys Access to Care_, among many others. The protest was a very loud and very visible criticism of the pharmaceutical giant, particularly the difference that Truvada costs overseas and in the U.S.—$500 versus $11,000 respectively—as well the luxurious compensation of its CEO, John C. Martin.
This protest demonstrates two very important things. One, that AIDS activism is still very much alive, much to the fear of some; and two, that the InternationalAIDS Conference, its attendees, and its sponsors, have a very complicated relationship.

Scientists see AIDS vaccine within reach after decades

MORE FALSE HOPE?
CHICAGO (Reuters *don't post a comment that Reuter's doesn't like, you will be banned) - At an ill-fated press conference in 1984, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Margaret Heckler boldly predicted an effective AIDS vaccine would be available within just two years.
But a string of failed attempts - punctuated by a 2007 trial in which a Merck vaccine appeared to make people more vulnerable to infection, not less - cast a shadow over AIDS vaccine research that has taken years to dispel.

Facebook group Movement Against the HIV & AIDS Theory set up in Malaysia

BY ANNA LEACH - gaystarnews.com

A dangerous theory that denies the connection between HIV and AIDS is being spread in Malaysia.
A Facebook group called Gerakan Bantah Teori HIV-AIDS Malaysia (meaning Movement Against the HIV-AIDS Theory Malaysia) was started two months ago and has 146 members.
Malaysian human rights activist Pang Khee Teik was alerted to the group when he was asked to be a member.
‘THIS DANGEROUS MOVEMENT has come to Malaysia,’ Pang said. ‘There is very shoddy science behind this movement, they use very weak populist logic to persuade people that HIV does not cause AIDS. This sometimes results in causing people not to get tested for HIV and also result in people with HIV not taking medication for HIV. This is a DANGEROUS movement.’
The Facebook group post messages such as ‘HIV testing is dangerous to your health’, ‘Life-long Anti-retroviral/cocktail therapy = Life-long profit for Pharmaceutical Industry’ and ‘HIV is NOT a Death Sentence. Take back YOUR LIFE. Start Questioning!'

John P.Moore, Aids Denialist

John P. Moore, of the New York Times, and of Aidstruth.org, on his approach to discourse and debate in science [Here ]:
  • “AIDS Truth’s approach is to destroy (by public exposure) the “leadership” of the AIDS denialist movement and thereby prevent them from causing the deaths of people who for various reasons are prone to believing the lies the denialists peddle for political reasons, including the profit motive.”
First, there is no “Aids denialist movement.” This is a term Moore has invented to describe those have pointed to the massive, blood-soaked failures of the standard Aids belief system, and pleaded for a new plan of attack on the many problems that “Aids” represents and stands in for.
Second, the profit motive belongs, solely, to the mainstream. Nobody is getting rich by asking GlaxoSmithKline, Abbott, Pfizer, Boehringer Ingelheim, or Bristol-Myers-Squibb to stop poisoning poor, Black children with their very profitable, internationally distributed and hawked drugs.

UnitedHealth's Misleading Promises--It's What The Company Didn't Say That's Most Important

By

Several years ago, when I was still a health insurance company PR guy, I was accused by a furious CNBC producer of withholding important information when I cajoled her into having my CEO on "Squawk Box" to talk about some new initiative we were rolling out.
"You played us like a Stradivarius!" she screamed at me when she realized that while my CEO was fielding softball questions from her show's host, our chief financial officer was signing off on a disclosure the company was obligated by the SEC to make by the close of business. Because the news we had to announce was so bad it would have a "material effect on earnings" (translation: cost shareholders a bundle), the big bosses ordered us to wait until after the New York Stock Exchange closed at 4:00pm -- and many hours after the Squawk Box interview -- to release it. They wanted to postpone the trauma it would cause the company.
Sure enough, when the markets opened the next morning, the company's stock price began a long slide. The CEO was quoted in the bad-news news release about how the company was taking steps to make sure nothing like that would ever happen again, a statement written for him by the company's lawyers and PR people, but he was nowhere near a TV camera. Every time he was asked for an interview, we "declined" to make him available. We were not about to make him answer what we referred to as "rude" questions from a reporter.
That episode came to mind as I read story after story in the mainstream media last week about the decision by UnitedHealth Group to "honor" some of the provisions of ObamaCare even if the Supreme Court declares the law unconstitutional.
