Richard Horton of the "Lancet" blasts HIV and AIDS scientific community on journalist bully
Richard Horton of the Lancet (the world's leading general medical journal and specialty journals in Oncology, Neurology and Infectious Diseases) blasts John P Moore & Nathan Geffen for their conflicting decision to stop anyone other than scientists from challenging the scientiifc consensus of HIV/GRID/AIDS research.

"The Other Side of AIDS" - an HIV and AIDS documentary Films
Take an unflinching look into an issue the mainstream media doesn’t dare touch: the failure of the multi billion-dollar war on AIDS. The Other Side of AIDS gives voice to a growing movement of doctors, scientists, journalists, and HIV positives who reveal a tangled web of conflicts of interest, political correctness and unresolved errors surrounding AIDS.
After 30 years and more than $150 billion in federally funded research, scientists still can’t explain how HIV causes AIDS. Millions of people have been declared HIV-positive with tests that can’t find the actual virus. The latest AIDS medications are taking more lives than AIDS itself. One expert proposes that the cause and cure for AIDS is as near at hand as our willingness to examine new ideas. Yet according to a prominent AIDS researcher, anyone questioning HIV is a perpetrator of death and should be jailed. Should AIDS advocates have the power to silence scientific debate? Has saving face become more important than saving lives? Watch The Other Side of AIDS and decide for yourself.

HIV NO MEDS - A clinical study
Texas A&M University: Professor Patricia Goodson is leading a study of HIV-positive people who have never started AIDS drugs or who have stopped them, yet have survived for a decade or longer without developing AIDS. The website includes a link to a YouTube video describing this work and the email address of the professor if you wish to participate through an interview. All participation will be confidential.
"Anomalies". That is how mainstream science and health care view persons who have tested positive for HIV infection, have refused to submit to mainstream treatments, yet have survived for a decade or longer without developing AIDS.
If LTNPs - also known as long-term survivors, long-term healthy seropositives, elite controllers, or elite suppressors - have captured the attention of geneticists, virologists and immunologists, they have, nonetheless, gone unnoticed by clinicians, policy makers, and health educators. Nonprogressors remain, for all practical purposes, "anomalies"; mysterious cases for which science cannot easily account.
Specifically, very little is known about the lived experiences of HIV+ persons who refuse mainstream anti-retroviral therapies and remain AIDS-free for many years. Some of the questions we don't have good answers for, include:
Decisions to stop (or never start) drug treatments for HIV infection: A pilot study of long-term nonprogressors (LTNPs)

Clinton to Urge Using Latest Science in New AIDS Push
More Drugs sooner is always good Prevention? if condoms are prevention also where in this article is the break down of the cost of producing and disturbing them? OR just basic cost of education?
Modeling done by scientists shows that combining HIV prevention methods—including the use of condoms, male circumcision, medicines to prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to child, and putting more infected people on AIDS drugs—can lead to a sharp drop in the number of new HIV infections.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is expected to call Tuesday for a new push by the U.S. and other countries to harness recent science to stem the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Government researchers believe science has now developed sufficient tools to contain the pandemic, which erupted 30 years ago, has infected more than 60 million people and has been linked to the deaths of about 30 million. HIV infects about 2.6 million people a year.

In a speech to be delivered at the National Institutes of Health, Mrs. Clinton is expected to call for those tools to be widely implemented in countries where the pandemic continues to rage, and to ask donors to step up aid to intensify the response, according to people briefed on the speech.

Hide-And-Seek: Altered HIV Can't Evade Immune System - ScienceDaily

that makes it no longer able to suppress the immune system. Their work, they say in a report published online September 19 in the journal Blood, could remove a major hurdle in HIV vaccine development and lead to new treatments.
"Something about the HIV virus turns down the immune response, rather than triggering it, making it a tough target for vaccine development," says David Graham, Ph.D., assistant professor of molecular and comparative pathobiology and medicine. "We now seem to have a way to sidestep this barrier," he adds.
Typically, when the body's immune system cells encounter a virus, they send out an alarm by releasing chemicals called interferons to alert the rest of the body to the presence of a viral infection. When the immune cells encounter HIV, however, they release too many interferons, become overwhelmed and shut down the subsequent virus-fighting response.
The researchers had learned from other studies that when human immune cells (white blood cells) are depleted of cholesterol, HIV can no longer infect them. It turns out the coat that surrounds and protects the HIV viral genome also is rich in cholesterol, leading the Johns Hopkins team to test whether viruses lacking cholesterol could still infect cells at all.

Scientific proof that Homeopathy works
NaturalNews
Most scientists would state categorically that homeopathy is a scientific impossibility. Who would disagree, as the explanation that is currently provided to support homeopathy makes very little sense. How is it possible that a solution that contains no chemical atoms causes a biological reaction? All of our basic understanding of science screams out that this is patently impossible.

Spontaneously generated HIV
Posted by Henry Bauer on 2011/03/09
HIV/AIDS true-believers seem content to find “HIV” even when there is no conceivable source of it: not infected needles, not sexual intercourse, not blood transfusion, not via breast milk . . . . [Spontaneous generation of “HIV”, 2009/10/25]. Here’s another example of that:
A 13-year-old Indian girl presented with symptoms that defied diagnosis:
Jhuma Sankar, Dinesh Raj, Jeeva Sankar, Pradeep K. Sharma, Rakesh Lodha & S. K. Kabra, “HIV infection mimicking autoimmune disorder”, Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 74 [2007] 777-80.
Jhuma Sankar, Dinesh Raj, Jeeva Sankar, Pradeep K. Sharma, Rakesh Lodha & S. K. Kabra, “HIV infection mimicking autoimmune disorder”, Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 74 [2007] 777-80.
The girl had been hospitalized several times before: at 6 months for diarrhea; at 6 years with pneumonia; and at 13 with humoral immune deficiency and collagen vascular diseases (which include autoimmune diseases like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis), and she was tested inconclusively for tuberculosis. The girl was treated with intravenous antibiotics, and discharged. But two months later she was back in hospital. Further tests were now done, including for HIV even though there were absolutely no known risk factors for it (including healthy parents) and some of the laboratory tests were like those associated with lupus. Nevertheless, treatment for the girl’s manifest symptoms was augmented with antiretrovirals: nevirapine, lamivudine, and stavudine. Twenty days later, the girl was dead.
Of course, she might well have died even without the antiretroviral drugs. But feeding her such toxic substances when she was already gravely ill could hardly have helped.
I find it remarkable that there is no discussion in this article of how the girl is supposed to have become infected with HIV. One has to conclude that these physicians are unaware of the fact that a large variety of illnesses and other physiological conditions can falsely deliver “positive” “HIV” tests. They are far from alone in this, of course; but it still seems like malpractice, if that can include incompetence .

AIDS Breakthrough: Astragalus Root Could Replace HIV Drugs
Thursday, November 13, 2008 by: Sherry Baker, Health Sciences Editor
(NaturalNews) Could an herbal therapy that's been used for centuries in Chinese medicine to strengthen the immune system hold the key to an effective treatment for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, better known as AIDS? A new study by scientists at the UCLA AIDS Institute says that's possible.
The research, set to be published in the Journal of Immunology November 15th, concludes astragalus root contains a substance that could make it a powerful weapon in the fight against the HIV virus that causes AIDS. "This has the potential to be either added to or possibly even replace the HAART (highly active antiretroviral therapy), which is not tolerated well by some patients and is also costly," co-author Rita Effros, a professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and member of the UCLA AIDS Institute, said in a press statement.
