Even though I have such a limited education, I will risk offering this advice to two cults, which have a lot in common:
(1) THE GLOBAL-WARMING CULT: If you don't want to drown, avoid living or building on flood plains, which change every few thousand or million years or so, on a 4.5 billion-year-old, living, breathing planet. If you insist on living on a flood plain, by all means make friends with the Dutch. They figured out a solution to climate change a long time ago (and it wasn't legalizing marijuana, though they got that right, too.) Plus, understand that the geometric progression of human intellect and technology will make that carbon-fuming fossil fuel worthless in no more than 20 years. And why the hell did God (if you believe in that sort of thing) put all that oil under that sand, and so much coal under those hills, if he didn't want you to use it? (Just asking.)
(2) THE HIV-AIDS CULT: If you don't want to get sick, provide your body with clean water and sufficient food. Don't excessively ingest toxins from either illegal or legal DR.ug dealers, because there's only so much your liver and kidneys can filter. Do a lot of walking, maybe running, perhaps even jumping and pumping iron. Above all, avoid stress, especially the kind caused by "we're all gonna' die" environmentalists and African AIDS advocates. And never, ever get anyplace near Bethesda, MD, Atlanta, GA, or Foster City, CA, because the hot air quality there can kill you!
Peace be with you,
Dr. Terry Michael (honorary doctorate conferred by The NIH Bible College, Dr. J. Edgar Fauci, Dean)
